We will be chipping ice today to level the farmyard so the tractor can feed the cattle our good hay, remove manure (if not too frozen) and carry bedding. The herd looks good - they do not mind the cold if somewhat sheltered and fed well. In March, we will have 15 newborn calves and also great composted biodynamic manure.
The manure is for sale if you are gardening, but you must come to Ashfield. Bags are $5 (40 lbs) and $25 (yard, about a small pick-up truck load.
