I work with Hospital Food Service Directors, Chefs and Food Purchasing Managers at Maryland's hospitals (and nursing homes) to assist them with locating sources for healthy, local and sustainably produced foods. I also assist them with establishing farmers' markets, CSAs, gardens/farms and greenhouses on hospital grounds. Our organization is called Maryland Hospitals for a Healthy Environment www.mdh2e.org. Finally, I am volunteering with our local sustainable agriculture organization in the Mid-Atlantic region, Future Harvest - Chesapeake Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture, to participate in the planning of our Annual Conference in January 2010.
